The winner of the Genting Club Westcliff ‘Holiday of a Lifetime’ competition is preparing to set off on the trip of her dreams to New England. A regular customer at the casino, Har Chee Foong was delighted at being announced the winner, never having scooped a prize of this magnitude in a competition before.
Rothschild is charged with delivering the competition and engaging interested parties ahead of the official launch of the competition in early next year. Conditions of Entry

1. These terms and conditions shall govern the prize draw. 2. This prize draw will take place every quarter until the Promoter decides to withdraw the promotion. When the promotion is withdrawn, the promoter shall place a message at the top of these terms. 3. Subject to condition 4 below, all individuals aged 18 and over who are opted in to Meet@ marketing communications from Resorts World Birmingham on the last calendar day of each quarter will be entered in to a random prize draw. For the avoidance of doubt, the last calendar day for each quarter is 31 March, 30 June, 30 September and 31 December. 4. The following persons shall not be eligible for the prize draw: (i) employees of the Promoter, their affiliate companies and their agencies; (ii) anyone professionally connected with the promotion; and (iii) anyone who is not opted in to marketing communications on the last calendar day of the relevant quarter. 5. No purchase is required to enter the prize draw. 6. Only one entry is permitted per individual. In the event that the Promoter discovers the same individual has multiple email addresses opted in to marketing communications, the Promoter reserves the right to remove those email addresses from the prize draw and/or void any prizes if the prize draw has already taken place. 7. The competition prize is a luxury overnight stay and breakfast for two people at the Genting Hotel, Resorts World. 8. The competition prize is not transferable and may only be collected by the winner. 9. The Promoters reserve the right to: (i) refuse to accept any entry, including false and duplicate entries; (ii) void any entries (and any prize if necessary) in the event of entrant misconduct, fraud, or breach of these terms; or (iii) amend, alter or terminate this promotion or any specific entries in the event of circumstances beyond its reasonable control. 10. The Promoters accept no responsibility or liability for: (i) incomplete entries; nor (ii) any liability or responsibility otherwise arising from this promotion.

Selection of Winner

1. The prize draw will take within 14 days of the last calendar day of each quarter. 2. The Winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries to the prize draw each quarter by a random number generator. 3. The Winner will be contacted by email at the email address which was drawn as the Winner. 4. If the Winner does not respond within one week, they will be contacted again and given a further week to respond. 5. If the Winner does not respond after the second week, the Promoter reserves the right to void and re-run any draw and nominate an alternative Winner(s). 6. Following the selection of the Winner, the name and county of the Winner is available to the general public on request from marketing@resortsworldbirmingham.co.uk.

Prize terms and conditions

1. The prize includes a luxury overnight stay and breakfast for two people, one to be the winner, at the Genting Hotel and access to Santai Spa between 7am-10am and 6pm-10pm (subject to availability on dates of hotel stay). Prize must be booked at least one week in advance, subject to availability. Once the date of the stay has been agreed with the Promoter, the date may not be re-scheduled and the prize will forfeited if the winner does not attend on the scheduled date. 2. The winner must provide suitable identification when collecting the prize. 3. The Promoter reserves the right to change or substitute the prize if it reasonably deems it necessary. 4. The Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability (i) for any costs associated with the prize (e.g. transport, meals, insurance or other incidentals) nor (ii) any responsibility or liability otherwise arising from this competition. 5. In accordance with the Hotel’s standard booking terms, the winner will be required to produce a debit or credit card upon checking in to the Hotel so that any incidental purchases not included in the prize can be charged automatically.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

1. This competition and any dispute in connection with it (if any) shall be governed by the laws of England and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Like many places around the world, Malaysia is beginning to see an unwanted resurgence of COVID-19 cases. As a result, and much to the frustration of the people, lockdown orders are being extended. They don’t prevent everyone from being able to enjoy freedom completely, but they severely limit what activities are available. As a result, Resorts World Genting (RWG) is preparing for another revenue blow, but the casino doesn’t expect to have to shut down completely.

Malaysia’s Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) has been extended until November 9 for Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor and a few others. The initial goal was to be able to lift the order today, October 27, following a two-week run, but new COVID-19 cases are forcing the government’s hand. Yesterday, Malaysia set a record for the most single-day cases in the country since the outbreak began when it reported 1,240 new positive COVID-19 tests.

Most of those, 927, were on the island of Borneo, but the three cities that have been given the CMCO extension also saw some. Kuala Lumpur reported 17 cases, Penang had 61 and Selangor had 127. However, short of a government decree, RWG doesn’t feel that a complete closure is warranted, and says that it will continue normal operations as long as allowed. It emphasized, however, that individuals from hard-hit areas who had made reservations to visit the property should cancel or delay their trips, and added that it is willing to offer refunds in the event a guest decides to cancel. We will continue to do so to ensure the health and safety of all our guests and employees.”

RWG first closed down on March 18 due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Malaysia. It had planned on staying closed until April 14, but was then forced to extend the closure indefinitely. As a result, when the casino was finally opened on June 19, the damage had already been done, and revenue in the first half of the year slipped. As the country continues to battle COVID-19, even though the casino will be open, recovery is going to continue to be an uphill battle well into the future.
